Spiral ducts are a specific type of rigid duct featuring a circular cross-section. Usually made of galvanized steel, they are both efficient and aesthetically pleasing. The design is intended to ensure the airflow has a minimum turbulence condition. There are most of the commercial applications.
Not exactly “the traditional ducts,” ductless mini-split systems bring all the equipment indoors with indoor air handlers, which connect to an external compressor. These are convenient for houses without any existing ducts as they do not need any duct installation and thus save the trouble of putting in ductwork.
